Leaking shower linear drain converted to standard with custom sloped pan

Got a call from homeowner in Goffstown, NH with a leaking shower problem.

Improper waterproofing installed by previous contractor coming delaminated from linear drain.

Full shower floor removal. And then a custom sloped mud bed pitched to newly installed drain flange.

Waterproofing shower floor done with Laticrete HydroBan liquid membrane.

New Travertine tile cut to fit newly prepped shower floor. With "envelope cuts" the larger format tile (9x18) custom set to allow water to shed pitched to drain slope.

Tile floor was installed with lippage-eliminating clips and wedges. And used a rapid setting mortar to allow for same day grouting.

Everybody is human. Mistakes happen. But, we can help fix it. We were called to quote removal of white subway tile shower with black grout. Done by a design/install team in Amherst, New Hampshire. The grout color choice only highlighted the inconsistent lines of tile spacing by the other contractor. With the high contrast, instantly antiqued grout. They may have been able to salvage the shower with a grout removal. And maybe pop out and re-set a few of the tiles with lippage edges sticking out. But, the homeowner wanted it all removed and redone before Christmas. So, she got what she asked for.
